|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 7:00 am, repeating until May 3, 2023

Does your hospital need training on hospital surge capacity management for natural disasters and chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives (CBRNE) incidents? Join us for Hospital Disaster Management Training, an in-depth two-day session that is a product of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services Emergency Medical Services Agency’s Disaster Resource Center Program.

This course has a broad approach, with both a clinical and non-clinical target audience that includes but is not limited to hospital administrators, physicians, nurses, emergency care technicians, safety/security officers, facilities management, mental health, ancillary, legal/risk management, human resources, educators, clinic and first receiver staff. Participants will learn how to move beyond awareness and focus on operational strategies.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify an all hazards approach to coordinate a hospital response during a mass casualty incident.
  • Perform a role in the hospital command center.
  • Perform a role in either the emergency department or triage.
  • Describe the health care facility’s role in a disaster
