Covered CA’s 12th annual Open Enrollment for Covered California begins on November 1, 2024, and continues until January 31, 2025.
California’s enhanced cost-sharing reduction program will be available to all Covered CA enrollees in 2025, making coverage more affordable for Californians. Twenty-three percent of current consumers will have a $0 monthly premium in 2025 if they keep their current plan and nearly ninety percent of individuals currently enrolled in Covered CA already receive financial assistance. Additionally, recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program will be eligible to enroll in Covered CA for 2025 due to a federal rule change. Current Covered CA estimates indicate that about 40,000 DACA recipients in California will be eligible for coverage this enrollment period.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
A recent federal rule change allows recipients of the Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals (DACA) to sign up for health coverage for Covered California. From November 1 to December 31, 2024, DACA recipients can sign up for a health plan during a special enrollment period. If a DACA recipient is enrolled in November, their plan could start as soon as December 1, 2024. The special enrollment period overlaps with Covered CA’s regular open enrollment period, meaning DACA recipients can also sign up for health insurance for 2025 during this time. Learn more here.
