Thank you for joining us!
California is boldly raising the bar in its commitment to advancing the health and well-being of all residents, from expanding coverage to embarking on a historic transformation of the Medi-Cal program. While these advancements bring our communities closer to more equitable systems of care, health centers face formidable challenges to sustainable transformation, including health worker shortages and insufficient funding. Health centers, policymakers, patients and partners must come together to forge a new path and build the foundation for a health care system that is sustainable and accessible for all.
The 23rd Annual Southern California Health Care Symposium was held Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Nearly 300 partners in the health center movement joined the Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County and the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers to envision our collective future as we transform health care in our communities and beyond. About Us
CCALAC is a 501 (c)(3) organization representing 66 member community health centers that operate more than 380 primary care sites in LA County. Our members provide vital health care services to more than 1.89 million patients, the majority of whom have low incomes, and are either publicly insured or uninsured.
Community health centers are non-profit, state-licensed organizations that provide high-quality primary care, including medical, dental, and mental health services, to under-resourced communities disproportionately impacted by poverty and systemic racism. Additional services that can be found within some health centers include pharmacy, x-ray, radiology, optometry, obstetrics, specialty referrals, and other medical services.
