Take Action: Ask Members of Congress Not to Fund Public Charge!
The Administration has released the final Public Charge rule.If litigation does not prevents the rule from taking effect, the effective date will be October 15.
The final regulation could prevent an immigrant from obtaining a “green card” if they have used certain health, nutrition or anti-poverty programs, such as Medi-Cal and CalFresh. The public charge rule was designed intentionally to be confusing, complicated, and scary. The rule will force immigrant families to choose between accessing these critical support programs and keeping their families safe.
Health centers are committed to improving the health and well-being of all members of their communities – regardless of immigration status.
