Strategic Planning: Preparing in Times of Uncertainty
September 21, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
FreeThis training will assist health center leadership, staff, and board members in preparing for changes and growth through various strategic planning methods and ideas, especially while grappling with the ongoing effects of COVID-19 on health center operations. Utilizing our recent publications, “Strategic Business Planning Handbook for Health Centers,” and “Market Assessment Toolkit for Health Centers,” we will guide participants through the components of the strategic planning process and of developing a market assessment. We will provide tools and information based on extensive experience working with health centers, as well as readily available external resources. By utilizing a market assessment, health centers can analyze their markets and service areas in geographic, demographic, and economic terms in order to make informed observations and guide strategic decisions. To help health centers better prepare for these expansions and initiatives, Capital Link will share an overview of the intentions and possibilities in planning for growth in these efforts. Additionally, this session will review opportunities for examining recent, current, and anticipated health center trends through a variety of scenarios to develop appropriate strategies.
During this training, participants will:
- Better understand the unique health center business model and operational efforts in exploring and utilizing planning resources
- Explore the use of various scenarios to examine your health center’s sustainability in a changing environment
- Using the health center’s own data, explore ideas and strategies for strengthening health center operations and ability to provide ongoing access
