Instructor Biography:
Julie Chiesa is an independent consultant with 23+ years of experience supporting NextGen organizations. She playfully
refers to herself as “NextGen Spackle” because she can fill in as much or as little as an organization needs.
She has extensive experience in NextGen’s development platforms including the creation of custom content as well as modifying templates within the out-of-box Clinical Template set (aka ACE/KBM.) She specializes in portable development so that custom content is easily re-integrated during upgrades and truly enjoys teaching on how to do their own smart development as much as doing the development herself. Her concentration is always on streamlining processes and “less clicks” for clinical providers and ancillary staff.
She has worked with groups of all sizes from small, private practices to large enterprises like MSOs, ACOs, FQHCs/CHCs and national hospital organizations and has a strong working knowledge of specialty content including but not limited to,
Internal Medicine/Family Practice, Orthopedics, Rheumatology, Pediatrics, ENT, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Behavioral Health, Ophthalmology, and OBGYN.
In addition to NextGen, Julie has a working knowledge of a number of other products in the healthcare space and prior to her healthcare IT career, she was a journalist working in online service content development and medical practice marketing.
