The Blue Shield of California Health Equity COVID-19 Vaccine Confidence Pilot is utilizing the Harmony Health platform to partner with trusted community leaders and community-based organizations, including CCALAC member clinics, in Los Angeles County to address vaccination barriers for Black, Latino, and Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

Harmony Health is a digital outreach and engagement platform modeled after a proven grassroots organizing strategy that was selected by Blue Shield of California for the pilot. This pilot centers on engaging vulnerable populations through community-based and faith-based organizations to organize, manage, and drive participation in Covid-19 vaccination campaigns. The Harmony Health platform provides quick, easy access to and distribution of trusted information shared in a personalized, targeted manner by a trusted source based on community needs and preferences. Communications can be sent via text, video, or email format.

Community partners selected for the pilot received a small grant and access to the in-kind Harmony Health technology package to increase their outreach capacity and enhance their ability to customize the information they share with their clients. This technology-enabled trusted messenger community organizing approach equips reliable community information sources and influencers with the means to educate, advocate, and update individuals with information that alleviates individual fears, creates clarity about the vaccination process and logistics, and offers additional guidance to those who need it.
