Instructor Biographies:
Betsy Johnson
Betsy Johnson is a Senior Human Resources expert and management consultant with over 20 years’ experience specializing in strategic leadership and organizational development, compensation analysis and talent acquisition and retention. She is also an executive coach who works with high-level executives and managers to improve efficiency while obtaining a work-life balance. Betsy is passionate about sharing her knowledge and enjoys conducting workshops and webinars frequently. She is currently working on her first non-fiction book focused on being your own Chief Happiness Officer.
Guillermo Gonzalez, Jr., SHRM-CP, Senior Vice President, IMA Financial Group
As Senior Vice President, Guillermo has a passion for implementing employee benefits program for nonprofit & healthcare organizations and is dedicated to helping employers define company culture through custom plan offerings that save money and cut down on out-of-pocket expenses for employees. Helping clinics make their benefits low cost and in many times, zero out-of-pocket for employees has been what he is known for in the FQHC space. He has helped grow the Community Clinic Practice at Bolton IMA Los Angeles by partnering with over a third of the largest clinics in LA County. Guillermo explores partnership opportunities by bringing value to his network of CEOs, COOs, CHROs and CFOs. He is an expert at analyzing current benefit programs, identifying enhancement solutions and recommending potential cost-saving alternative options for both employer and employee. His goal is to collaborate with his clients as their business partner, designing unique service models based on each client’s individual needs.
Guillermo brings with him deep industry broker experience, including 15 years in the broker business where he focuses on serving social service organizations and community clinics. Along with his teams, he strives to implement innovative solutions in employee benefits programs, talent retention strategies, wellness initiatives and organizational development training that strengthen employer brands and deliver improved employee experiences. He holds multiple broker licenses, including Life, Accident, Health and Property & Casualty and is a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). Guillermo is very involved in programming with the Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County, works as the Programs Chair for Professionals In Human Resources Association (PIHRA) DTLA Chapter and supports the United Cerebral Palsy National Affiliate at their national summits. He enjoys connecting with his clients and industry associations outside of the scope of professional services and is regularly featured as a presenter for CFO, COO and HR Roundtables
