Cyber Risk and Insurance Training

As cybersecurity threats evolve and continue to become increasingly sophisticated, the cyber insurance market has been forced to adjust to meet the challenges of this new environment. This training is designed to provide an overview of cyber exposures and how they are affecting the healthcare industry, as well as the benefits of cyber insurance and how it can help your organization minimize cyber risk. Attendees will also learn about the minimum security measures required to be implemented at your organization before a cyber insurance policy can be approved.

During this training, participants will:

  • Discover the minimum security requirements necessary to apply for cyber insurance.

Instructor Biographies:

Chris Tobin, ARM-PE, Senior Vice President, Alliant Insurance Services.

Chris joined the Alliant Insurance Services team in 1999, following more than ten years of company and retail brokerage experience. She offers a wide breadth of expertise including the development and management of property and casualty insurance programs. Chris understands the complex and unique insurance issues facing public entities, not-for-profits and healthcare sectors. Her primary focus is on client service and development with an emphasis on insurance program management. Chris currently manages one of the country’s largest hospital group purchase programs covering property, cyber and environmental coverage, which includes over 150 members nationwide. Since joining Alliant, she has served as the program manager for the Special Liability and Special Property joint purchase programs accommodating not-for-profit and public entity organizations with over 800 participants nationwide. She developed many other not-for-profit and public entity sector insurance programs for crime, volunteer accidental death & dismemberment, and excess medical coverages. Her multi-line property and casualty experience dates back to 1989, when she started her career in loss control and underwriting for the Transamerica Insurance Group. Her expertise ranges from professional and general liability, public officials liability, non-profit directors and officers and environmental liability, to workers’ compensation and property lines.

Thomas Joyce, CPCU, ARM, Associate Producer, Alliant Insurance Services.

Thomas has been with Alliant for five years and is a broker on the Public Entity Cyber team. As such, he has a wealth of experience working with cyber insurance underwriters, wholesale brokers, consultants, and vendors. He services public entity clients of all kinds, including hospitals, cities, counties, universities, schools, and transit districts. Thomas is a licensed Property and Casualty retail broker and has obtained Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
