Core Competencies for Community Health Center Managers & Supervisors Training

An event every week that begins at 9:30 am on Tuesday, repeating until May 21, 2024
This intensive and highly interactive 5-week virtual training enables Community Health Center managers and supervisors to gain crucial skills needed to successfully lead and manage employees in today’s challenging and fast-changing health center environment.
Participants Gain and Strengthen Skills to:
- Develop and retain engaged, productive and satisfied teams.
- Utilize Behavioral Interviewing to hire the right staff for long-term success.
- Coach and develop employees.
- Communicate effectively as a manager.
- Avoid common legal pitfalls when managing employees.
- Create and sustain a culture of customer service.
- Drive accountability and deliver results.
Who should attend:
This “Core Competencies” training is recommended for managers and supervisors with 18 months or less of supervisory experience AND more experienced managers seeking to refresh and hone their skills.
Course Format:
Using the Zoom online conferencing platform, we replicate the “face-to-face” experience without having to travel! Throughout the program, participants gain knowledge and skills, work in large and small groups, participate in hands-on exercises, and discuss crucial issues in engaging, managing, and retaining health center staff. We also incorporate short, weekly implementation “homework” to encourage putting new skills into immediate action.

Time Commitment:
The “Core Competencies” program will be held each Tuesday morning, April 23 – May 21, 2024. This is a 5-week course and participants should plan to attend all five sessions. The specific dates are:

- 4/30/2024; 9:30AM – 12:00PM
- 5/7/2024; 9:30AM – 12:00PM
- 5/14/2024; 9:30AM– 12:00PM
- 5/21/2024; 9:30AM – 12:00PM
Important note: Each participant will need a webcam to join this virtual “face-to-face” training (one participant per device). If access to a computer with a webcam is not available, Zoom has an excellent app and participants may join via tablet or phone with video capability.

Instructor Biography:
Lisa Mouscher is CEO and Lead Trainer at Sogence Training and Consulting. As a popular and dynamic facilitator, trainer and consultant, Lisa works primarily with leaders, managers, and supervisors from Federally Qualified Health Centers and other community health centers across the country. She brings her extensive background in management, training and human resources to her work with community health organizations and specializes in two areas: providing intensive management skills training to CHC managers and supervisors at all levels; and assisting health centers to create and sustain a culture of customer service. Lisa is known for facilitating immediately applicable results as well as lasting impact to strengthen community health centers for the long-term.
