Building and Sustaining Action and Accountability Around Biases in Health Centers

The aim of this two-part training is to provide middle managers, supervisors, and leaders with tools to increase trust and improve relationships and communication efforts centered around antiracist practices. In addition, this training will provide micro day to day practices to antiracist goal achievement with an emphasis on development of essential leadership skills in order to sustain this practice. And finally, this training will aid in increasing antiracist accountability.

During this training, participants will:

  • Be able to identify micro antiracist practices
  • Be able to define managing up to promote antiracist accountability
  • Learn to set goals to achieve individual antiracist successes

Instructor Biography:

Allen E. Lipscomb, PsyD, LCSW is an Associate Professor and Director of Online and Offsite MSW Programs as well as Director of Minority Male Mentoring (M3) and Student Success Allies (SSA) program at California State University Northridge in the Department of Social Work. Dr. Lipscomb is a clinical psychologist by highest degree earned and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California. Dr. Lipscomb received his doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) with a clinical emphasis in marriage, family and child psychotherapy from Ryokan College and his Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California. Upon completing his doctorate, he earned a certification in mixed-methods community-based research from the University of Michigan in the School of Social Work. In addition, Dr. Lipscomb studied diversity and inclusion practices within organizations through Cornell University, earning a certification from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell.  In April of 2022, Dr. Lipscomb earned a certification in Executive Public Leadership within organizations at Harvard University in the Kennedy School of Executive Education.
