Recognizing and Addressing the Risks of Shifting Epidemiology of Adult Pneumococcal Disease
February 11 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
FreeResearch shows that an increasing number of adults are experiencing pneumococcal pneumonia. In adults, the same bacteria that causes the condition can also “invade” other areas of the body that are normally free from germs. When this happens, it can affect the blood, as well as the lining of the brain and spinal cord. This educational session provides an overview of a preventative vaccine available for both pediatric and adult populations.
As a result of participating in this session, attendees will be able to:
- Discuss the ongoing burden and shifting epidemiology of pneumococcal disease in adults
- Review the robust clinical trial program for an option to help address IPD in adults
- Highlight the 2024 CDC recommendations for adult pneumococcal disease
