Emergency Management Program
The Emergency Management Program, funded by the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response Hospital Preparedness Program, with support and cooperation from Los Angeles County’s Department of Health Services Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Agency, supports enrolled organizations to develop plans, procedures, and relationships that facilitate emergency management activities related to mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. Take advantage of training and emergency communications resources to ensure Incident Command System (ICS) implementation and National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliance.
Goals of this program are as follows:
- Health Center integration into the National Response Framework via adoption and application of the California Standardized Emergency Management System and National Incident Management System processes
- Support and Coordination of Health Center preparedness, response, and recovery plans, processes, and protocols relevant to emergency events
- Enhanced pre-disaster relationship building with Local Healthcare facilities, Emergency Management Partners, and non-traditional community entities to foster whole community resiliency
- Enhance disaster capability of Health Centers through staff training and information sharing, provision of appropriate supplies and equipment, and improved communication to provide efficient and effective triage and/or treatment to victims of disasters, terrorist events, or other public health emergencies
