This is a CREW Two-Part Leadership Training Series.

Part 1: Wholehearted Leadership: Guiding Teams Through Life and Societal Shifts Through The 5 Leadership Dimensions – Two-Part Series on May 28, 2026 from 9:30am – 11:30am

This workshop will introduce health center leadership to the 5 co-active leadership dimensions (the leader within, the leader in front, the leader beside, the leader behind, and the leader in the field) and ways in which they can move through these dimensions in order to guide their teams through life and societal shifts occurring in their immediate lives and the lives of those they care for at the health center. This session will also include scenarios and a breakout session to deepen the dialogue and co-create with their peers’ ways in which to be more of a wholehearted leader.

As a result of attending this session, participants will:

  • Understand the five Co-Active Leadership Dimensions and when to embody each.
  • Practice shifting between leadership dimensions through scenarios.
  • Cocreate strategies to lead with authenticity and support team resilience.

Part 2: Leading Without Burning Out Your Team: Strategic Decision-Making in High- Demand Environments on June 4, 2026 from 9:30am – 11:30am

This session introduces leaders to the concept of strategic refusal,a practical, researchbased approach published in the Harvard Business Review for recognizing when and how to say “no” to unrealistic demands in a thoughtful, principled, and mission aligned way.  Using the Execution Feasibility vs. Strategic Importance matrix, participants will explore scenarios from each quadrant and learn how to navigate high pressure requests without compromising team wellbeing or health center priorities. We will apply the framework to a real challenge simulation they may be currently facing, helping the audience at the workshop strengthen decisionmaking clarity and prevent burnout for themselves and their teams.

As a result of this training attendees will:

  • Learn the concept of strategic refusal and why it matters for team wellbeing and the retention of talented staff.
  • Use the Execution Feasibility vs. Strategic Importance matrix to make clearer decisions during high stress and workload seasons.
  • Develop practical approaches for responding to high-pressure requests without burning yourself out or your team.
