NextGen & AI: Evaluating Integration, Workflow Impact, and Governance is a strategic training designed for technical leaders, system administrators, developers, and advanced users navigating the growing presence of AI within the NextGen ecosystem.

As EHR vendors expand offerings such as ambient documentation, AI-driven scheduling, revenue cycle automation, survey bots, and orchestration engines, organizations must move beyond marketing language and evaluate real operational impact. This workshop provides a practical, operational framework for understanding core AI models, assessing potential integration points within NextGen’s architecture, and identifying governance, compliance, and workflow implications specific to FQHC and grant-funded care models.

Participants will leave with practical criteria for evaluating AI tools, separating capability from hype, and supporting informed, responsible adoption decisions.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate between major AI approaches and explain how they apply within healthcare and the NextGen ecosystem.
  • Analyze AI capabilities within NextGen for workflow impact, structured data integrity, and quality reporting performance.
  • Identify governance, compliance, HRSA, and operational risk considerations related to AI use in FQHC settings.

Presented by Julie Chiesa, NextGen SME / InfoDirectors, Inc.
