Media 101: Provider Spokesperson Training

Calling all providers! Join this training to learn the basics of speaking with media. This session is specifically for providers who are spokespersons or interested in becoming spokespersons for their organization. The training will be issue-neutral and tailored to health centers, using evergreen health center issues as examples. The training will specifically address questions, concerns and barriers raised by members regarding media engagement. Attendees will have an opportunity to practice during the session.
Learning objectives
- Understand the different interview formats (audio, video, phone) and how to prepare for each one
- Understand how to project confidence, including voice, hand gestures and body language
- Understand how to develop and deliver concise answers and “soundbites,” stay on message
- Understand pivot techniques to redirect questions
