DESCRIPTION:Does your healthcare facility need training on surge capacity management for natural hazards and chemical\, biological\, radiological\, nuclear and explosives (CBRNE) incidents? Join us for Healthcare Disaster Management Training\, an in-depth two-day session that is a product of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services Emergency Medical Services Agency’s Disaster Resource Center Program. This course has a broad approach\, with both a clinical and non-clinical target audience that includes but is not limited to healthcare administrators\, physicians\, nurses\, emergency care technicians\, safety/security officers\, facilities management\, mental health\, ancillary\, legal/risk management\, human resources\, educators\, clinic and first receiver staff. DESCRIPTION:This course will provide foundational knowledge and skills necessary to understand and function within the National Incident Management System (NIMS) with the application of the Healthcare Incident Command System (HICS). Incorporation of the Incident Command System (ICS)/Healthcare Incident Command System (HICS) into the clinic enables cross-sector collaboration and support\, including emergency resource requests and effective recovery procedures. She is a member of the HICS National Workgroup\, and participated in projects with the CDC\, United Nations\, and numerous Homeland Security Exercises across the country. She has her BSN and Public Health Nurse Certificate\, and graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School with a Master’s in Homeland Security and Defense. She is currently the California Hospital Association\, VP Emergency Management.
