DESCRIPTION:This virtual course will provide foundational knowledge and skills necessary to understand and function within the National Incident Management System (NIMS) with the application of the Healthcare Incident Command System (HICS). SUMMARY:UDS+ Patient-Level Data Submission: Lessons Learned
DESCRIPTION:HRSA Uniform Data System (UDS) submission requirements\, processes and expectations are common knowledge across health centers and look-alikes. HRSA Health Center Program awardees and look-alikes are required to report a core set of information\, including data on patient characteristics\, services provided\, clinical processes and health outcomes\, patients’ use of services\, staffing\, costs\, and revenues as part of a standardized reporting system known as the Uniform Data System (UDS). Over the course of the past year and a half\, regular guidance and updated timelines have been shared with HIT vendors and health centers as they begin to prepare their systems for submitting annual UDS reports through new UDS+ FHIR based API pathway(s) that will now include patient level de-identified data. Ms. Proud holds an MPH with a focus in public health policy from University of Southern California.  \nRaymond Ople\, MPH\, Assistant Director of Network Programs and Initiatives\, Community Clinic Association of LA County (CCALAC) \nRaymond Ople\, MPH\, is CCALAC’s Assistant Director of Network Programs and Initiatives. Raymond has been with CCALAC for over 11 years and is also CCALAC’s designated Project Director of its Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) program. He has over 16 years of professional experience in the healthcare industry and is responsible for the oversight of CCALAC’s HCCN program and the effective coordination of CCALAC’s practice transformation technical assistance initiatives internally and with external partners. Raymond is the current chair of the California Primary Care Association’s HCCN Peer Network and is a contributing member of the national HCCN Peer Learning Team Advisory Committee\, which is supported by HRSA. Raymond holds a Master of Public Health from the University of California\, Los Angeles (UCLA)\, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies from the University of Southern California (USC). He is also a current Board Member of the UCLA Fielding School Health Policy and Management Alumni Association.  \nItohan Oyamendan\, Chief Operations Officer\, White Memorial Community Health Center \nMrs. Oyamendan is an experienced operations healthcare executive with a track record of leading successful practice initiatives\, driving process improvements\, maximizing productivity\, and introducing system efficiencies to propel growth. She has 20 years of health care and leadership experience within Federally Qualified Health Centers and Managed Behavioral Health Organizations serving the safety-net populations in Southern California counties\, most extensively in Los Angeles County. \nMrs. Oyamendan earned a Master of Health Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California\, Riverside. \nStephen Gutierrez\, Chief Information Officer\, Northeast Valley Health Corporation \nStephen was hired by Northeast Valley Health Corporation in 2003 in the newly created position of Director of Information Technology and was promoted to Chief Information Officer in 2012. His main focus was in managing the growth and integration of technology across all sections of the corporation and developing a strategic guideline to follow for future expansion. The Information Technology department he leads consists of 15 staff and supports both hardware and software applications including network and telecommunications systems. \nIn the 21 years Stephen has been at NEVHC\, his department has been instrumental in implementing many electronic systems including Nextgen EPM/EHR\, Pre-visit Patient Engagement System\, Dentrix Dental EHR\, a QS/1 Pharmacy System with Interactive Voice Response system for 24hour prescription refills\, i2i Tracks Population Management System\, an automated reporting system\, automated outreach through text and voice communication and recently migrated the company to a hosted telephone system. Interoperability has been an on-going focus with Radiology vendors and Health Information Exchange networks. Stephen regularly attends the CCALAC HIT and Nextgen User Group meetings and is an active member of the CPCA forums. \nPrior to joining NEVHC\, Stephen worked for Fountain View\, Inc.\, a 50 site\, multi-state skilled nursing facility and Orthopaedic Hospital in downtown Los Angeles. His education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Management from Cal State Fullerton. \nAnu Srinivasan\, Nextgen Applications Support Specialist & Reports Analyst\, Northeast Valley Health Corporation \nAnu joined Northeast Valley Health Corporation in 2019 and will reach her five-year mark in August. Anu is a clinician by training (OB/GYN)\, but due to circumstances not under her control\, quickly trained in Health Information Technology (HIT). She has gained immense insight & expertise using various EHR applications\, with Nextgen at the top of the list. \nAnu is the NG Support Specialist and Reports Analyst developing custom reports\, performing and coordinating NG application configuration changes in coordination with the CIO and HIT Support Manager. She is responsible for managing all NG custom template changes internal and external. The NG Support Specialist manages the configuration for patient outreach systems. Anu is also well versed with Rosetta interface connecting external vendors- Labs\, Mirth\, Nextgen Share etc. \nAnu’s strengths include her ability to learn and retain a tremendous volume of knowledge of the Nextgen software application. She has a strong desire to not only provide support for our care teams but to find the best possible solution to allow our organization to provide the best care we can provide. Anu is dedicated and always available to perform whatever job needs to be performed. She has blossomed in her ability to customize Nextgen templates and configurations. Anu is a key individual in the Information Technologies department to enhance the options of Nextgen. This last year she was instrumental in implementing the latest Nextgen upgrade and patches\, a custom Time Out process for Joint Commission\, automated Standing Orders and working with NG vendors on ECM\, Group templates and automation of PRAPARE and Pearls screening tools. \n

SUMMARY:Building Behavioral Health into Emergency Response Plans
DESCRIPTION:Staff and patient safety and wellness are at the heart of preparing for emergencies. This includes anticipating and responding to their behavioral health needs. During this session\, participants will review the impacts of stress and trauma on staff and survivors. After going over potential stress triggers and reactions\, participants will determine through small and large group activities the stressors likely to impact staff and types of stress or trauma expected in patients. \nParticipants will then explore how to incorporate disaster behavioral health into disaster plans to address the identified stressors and reactions. Building on standard sections within Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs) and Continuity of Operations Plans (COOPs)\, this session will provide suggestions on areas that can be expanded or developed to incorporate staff resilience building and behavioral health response. Group discussions will aid in communal learning and problem solving to help participants determine what may work for their health center.
