SUMMARY:Healthcare Disaster Management Training
DESCRIPTION:Does your healthcare facility need training on surge capacity management for natural hazards and chemical\, biological\, radiological\, nuclear and explosives (CBRNE) incidents? Join us for Healthcare Disaster Management Training\, an in-depth two-day session that is a product of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services Emergency Medical Services Agency’s Disaster Resource Center Program. This course has a broad approach\, with both a clinical and non-clinical target audience that includes but is not limited to healthcare administrators\, physicians\, nurses\, emergency care technicians\, safety/security officers\, facilities management\, mental health\, ancillary\, legal/risk management\, human resources\, educators\, clinic and first receiver staff. Participants will learn how to move beyond awareness and focus on operational strategies. \nAt the end of the course\, participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify an all hazards approach to coordinate a healthcare facility’s response during a mass casualty incident.\nPerform a role in the hospital command center.\nPerform a role in either the emergency department or triage.\nDescribe the healthcare facility’s role in a disaster.\n\nThis two-day course features: \n\nLectures and skill sessions\nTabletop and functional exercises\nImmediate exercise evaluation and feedback\nContinuing education credits*\n\nLocation \nLA General Medical Center\nOld General Hospital\, Room 1350\n1200 North State Street\nLos Angeles\, CA 90033 \nDress Requirements\nCasual/comfortable or scrubs. DESCRIPTION:The State of California has announced changes to the Medi-Cal program\, including freezing enrollment for Medi-Cal eligible individuals with Unsatisfactory Immigration Status (UIS)\, ceasing PPS payments for service rendered to UIS patients (instead paying fee-for-service)\, and stopping dental coverage for UIS adults.  All of these changes will be in effect by July 1\, 2026! He received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies from the University of Rochester.
