Lunch and Learn Webinar Series: CHDP Wellness MA Workflow- OCHIN @ WEBINAR

We are pleased to announce a NextGen Provider Training Webinar Series in partnership with OCHIN. This series is intended to train Providers on best practices for commonly used templates and workflows in order to advance user knowledge of the system and improve overall efficiency.

This webinar will demonstrate how to document a Pediatric Well Child visit using a best practice support staff workflow so that the information will properly and automatically update the Peds Wellness Assessment template. Staff will learn how to update the Peds Wellness Assessment template to accurately complete line items to indicate No Problem, Not Needed, as well as updating the template to add approved comments and indicate if the line item is a new or existing issue.

Participants will:

  • Understand where to document within the Pediatric Well Child visit support staff workflow to automatically update items on the Peds Wellness Assessment template.
  • Understand how to review the Peds Wellness Assessment template and update line items to indicate No Problem and/or Not Needed status.
  • How to document Peds Wellness Assessment template to show new and/or existing issues and add CHDP approved comments to line items.

Fit Testing Train-the-Trainer & Basics of an Infection Control Program @ CCALAC

OSHA requires appropriate staff be regularly fit-tested as part of an organization’s Respiratory Protection Program. This training will provide attendees with a basic set of solutions and understanding to be able to construct the framework for an Infection Control Program. The Train-the-Trainer model is designed for health care professionals who will be performing fit-tests at their respective organizations. Participation will include hands-on fit-testing and participants will receive FREE fit-testing kits to train other health center staff.

As a result of the training participants will:

  • Understand the basics and elements of a Respiratory Protection Program
  • Receive an overview of Cal/OSHA’s Aerosol Transmissible Disease Standard
  • Learn and practice how to fit-test other staff
  • Review 3M Fit Test Kits

Presented by John Ospital, Building Facilitator, Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, Emergency Management Services.

We are pleased to announce a NextGen Provider Training Webinar Series in partnership with OCHIN. This series is intended to train Providers on best practices for commonly used templates and workflows in order to advance user knowledge of the system and improve overall efficiency.

This webinar will demonstrate how to document immunizations within a Well Child visit so that the information will properly update the Peds Wellness Immunization template. Staff will learn how to update the Peds Wellness Immunization template to accurately complete immunizations with the proper immunization status, as well as updating the immunization line items to add approved comments and indicate if the line item is a new or existing issue. On the Peds Wellness Finalize template, staff will be instructed how to view the information for accuracy and update it to indicate the patient’s WIC current status and Next CHDP visit date.

Audience: Billers and Support Staff who support CHDP visits on NextGen

Participants will:

  • Understand where to document within the Pediatric Well Child visit support staff workflow to automatically update items on the Peds Wellness Immunization and Finalize templates.
  • Understand how to review the Peds Wellness Immunization and Finalize templates and how to update the patient’s visit immunizations to indicate the correct status and update comments on the immunization line items.
  • How to document Peds Wellness Finalize template to show the patient’s current WIC status and Next CHDP visit date.

Public Charge and Our Collective Health @ The California Endowment | Los Angeles | California | United States

Please join us on Tuesday, September 24th at 10:00 am for this LA event “Public Charge and Our Collective Health” to protect the health and safety of all people regardless of immigration status.

During this free workshop you will learn about the Public Charge test, expected changes, best practices to inform your community and opportunities to advocate for our collective health. Convene with LA County partners to fight against misinformation preventing families from accessing benefits and services they need. Learn how to get involved and support the collective health of all Californians regardless of immigration status.

At the end of the training participants will:

  • Learn expected changes, eligibility, and protections under the Public Charge rule.
  • Learn best practices to inform your community
  • Learn how to get involved

Lunch and Learn Webinar Series: Managing Assessment Templates – OCHIN @ WEBINAR

We are pleased to announce a NextGen Provider Training Webinar Series in partnership with OCHIN. This series is intended to train Providers on best practices for commonly used templates and workflows in order to advance user knowledge of the system and improve overall efficiency.

Please note, the following webinar was originally scheduled for early June but has been rescheduled for the last session of the series. The My Plan Templates training will be the first webinar held in the series on June 24, 2019.

The final webinar of the series will review the best practice workflows for documenting and managing a patient’s diagnosis lists. Providers will be shown how to use various workflows including the NextGen Diagnosis Code Lookup template, NextGen Common Assessment template, and the NextGen Diagnosis Module. If applicable for member organizations, we will review a third party tool called the IMO.

Participants will:

  • Understand how to document and manage assessments through the NextGen Diagnosis Code Lookup template.
  • Understand how to document and manage assessments through the NextGen Common Assessment template.
  • Understand how to document and manage assessments through the NextGen Diagnosis Module.
  • If applicable, understand how to document and manage assessments through third party IMO template.

“We Got You Covered” Program Updates Training – Registration Open! @ Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County

This training will provide a review of MAGI and Non-MAGI Medi-Cal programs, updates on Immigration issues and health coverage such as Public Charge and Non-Immigrant Visa Holder eligibility for Medi-Cal and Covered CA, updates for Covered CA open enrollment and Los Angeles County Safety Net programs such as My Health LA and ATP.

By the end of the training participants will:

  • Participants will have a clear understanding of changes to USCIS Public Charge policy.
  • Participants will have the skills to successfully screen applicants for the correct health coverage program depending on their income and immigration status.
  • Participants will have the skills to successfully advocate on clients behalf when encountering obstacles to program enrollment, retention and utilization.

Incident Command System Training October 2019 @ CCALAC Office

This course will provide foundational knowledge and skills necessary to understand and function within the National Incident Management System (NIMS) with the application of the Healthcare Incident Command System (HICS). Incorporation of the Incident Command System (ICS)/Healthcare Incident Command System (HICS) into the clinic enables cross-sector collaboration and support, including emergency resource requests and effective recovery procedures.

In this training participants will:

  • Learn fundamental approaches to emergency management
  • Learn the core concepts and principles of ICS/HICS
  • Simulate the ICS/HICS positions and roles with classmates
  • Learn the components of the NIMS and how to ensure your healthcare center is NIMS compliant
  • Learn how response coordination is achieved in Los Angeles County and other specific jurisdictions
  • Apply concepts learned to effectively respond in a disaster scenario

Customer Service in Community Health Centers @ CCALAC Office

Join us for a comprehensive training that will equip clinic staff to provide exceptional customer service to patients. The training will focus on the components of excellent customer service including the clinic culture, the patient experience and how to provide customer service when it is difficult.
