Training on Telemedicine for Pediatrics
August 5 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pmFree
Children younger than 15 years of age in the United States make an estimated 71 million office visits annually. Stay-at-home and shelter-in-place orders have resulted in declines in outpatient pediatric visits resulting in fewer preventative visits and vaccine doses being administered. It is just as important to continue preventative care for healthy children during this time as it is for the unhealthy. Both virtual and in person and strategies should to be put in place to properly care for healthy and sick children equally.
Telemedicine has inherent challenges in its nature and seeing children under 18 brings on a whole new set of barriers to overcome – from wellness visits and vaccine administration to privacy and consent – there needs to be decisions around how to best integrate telemedicine with your pediatric practice.
Learning Objectives of the Training Include:
- Best practices and resources for pediatric telehealth
- Consent requirements for pediatric telehealth
- How to address wellness visits and other visit type recommendations
