Suicide Safer Care for Primary Care Providers

November 5 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

This webinar will provide a comprehensive approach to the identification and management of patients at risk for suicide in a primary care setting and within the course of a routine primary care visit. Participants will learn the role primary care can play in suicide prevention, risk assessments, lethal means restriction and safety planning. This training is strongly recommended for all medical leadership, primary care providers and their teams. Suicide is one of the few chronic conditions where rates continue to rise nationally and are expected to rise even more as the community’s struggle with COVID-19.

As a result of attending this training:

  • Participants will learn about the prevalence of suicide, risk factors and the role of primary care
  • Participants will learn how to screen and assess patients for suicide risk
  • Participants will learn how to complete safety plans and conduct lethal means assessments for patients at risk for suicide in primary care

CME credits are being provided by American Academy of Family Physicians in accordance with their guidelines and will be provided after the training.

Presented by: Virna Little, PSyD, LCSW-r, SAP, CCM, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Concert Health, Director of the Center for Innovation in Mental Health at the CUNY School of Public Health in New York, and Co-Founder of Zero Overdose
