CCALAC ACEs Program Kick-Off
October 29 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pmFree
CCALAC was recently awarded ACEs aware funding to provide important trainings to equip our members with information, resources and tools to address the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). The impact of ACEs and toxic stress represent a public health crisis that has been, until recently largely unrecognized by our health care system and society. A consensus of scientific research demonstrates that cumulative adversity, especially when experienced during critical and sensitive periods of development, is a root cause to some of the most harmful, persistent, and expensive health challenges facing our state and the nation. ACEs affect all communities, crossing ethnic, socio-economic, gender, and geographic lines. But there is hope. We can take action now to change and save lives. The impacts of ACEs and toxic stress are treatable. Together with our partners at Center for Youth Wellness, Eisner Health, Origins and TCC Health, CCALAC has developed robust training offerings to prepare Community Health Centers and their teams to better understand, assess and respond with evidence based interventions to address ACEs and toxic stress. We invite you to bring champions and key members of your team to our trainings to learn how to prepare your organization to become more trauma informed.
By the end of the convening you will better understand CCALAC’s ACEs program, meet the partners involved in providing training, obtain our calendar of trainings and be better prepared for you and your team to benefit from the trainings , tools and resources available.
