CCALAC Collaborative for Retention, Engagement, and Wellness (CREW) Application

Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County (CCALAC) invites member clinic teams to participate in the Collaborative for Retention, Engagement, and Wellness (CREW). This 6-session program will bring together 10-15 member clinic teams to learn and discuss recruitment, onboarding, retention and staff wellness as it relates to staff burnout, wellbeing and the quality of care that we provide to our communities. Each member clinic participating in CREW will receive a one-time payment of $2000 upon completion of the program. 

 Why Join CREW? 

CREW will allow member clinic teams to learn from one another while they test and implement organizational strategies to improve workforce wellbeing and satisfaction. By participating in CREW, health center teams will learn from their peers; learn new and innovative research and evidence-informed practices; and demonstrate to their patients, staff, and community that their health center is actively engaged in efforts to promote staff well-being and quality of care. 


Sessions will be held virtually. The first hour of each session will consist of didactic training followed by one hour of group discussion. Discussions will allow teams to hear and share successes and lessons learned in implementing workforce wellness and satisfaction interventions. Teams will receive a packet of interventions and will be asked to identify and test at least one intervention to increase staff satisfaction, wellness, and ultimately, retention. Each team will also be assigned a coach from CCALAC who will check-in regularly to assess progress and talk through challenges and concerns. CCALAC will follow up with participating clinics 3 months after CREW has ended to track clinics’ progress.

 Member Clinic Team Composition 

Each member clinic team can include 3-5 members. Teams should be composed of at least one member clinic leader (C-suite) and may also include directors and/or managers who oversee and support staff and others at your organization who are involved or invested in your workforce wellness and satisfaction efforts (e.g., workforce satisfaction committee members). Team members should have the authority to guide and implement interventions from the intervention packet. 

 Time Commitment 

The Learning Collaborative will begin on November 4, 2021 and meet every other week on Thursdays for two hours. Please ensure that your team can attend the following sessions before submitting your application: 

  • November 4, 2021; 12:00-2:00pm PT 
  • November 18, 2021; 12:00-2:00pm PT 
  • December 2, 2021; 12:00-2:00pm PT 
  • December 16, 2021; 12:00-2:00pm PT 
  • January 13, 2022; 12:00-2:00pm PT 
  • January 27, 2022; 12:00-2:00pm PT
